As many as
100,000 homes in Dubai will be gifted
with a sapling each under a new campaign launched by the Dubai Municipality on
the occasion of the country’s 41st National Day.
The Dubai Municipality has announced the ‘One Home One Tree’
campaign in response to the ‘Union Tree’ initiative launched by His Highness
Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the
UAE
and Ruler of Dubai.
Lootah said the municipality will
distribute a tree for every house of the emirate starting from November 18
until the National
Day on December 2.
Over the weekend, the official
said, the department distributed as many as 20,000 saplings. The distribution
was held in Nad Al Hamar park, Al Warqa markets, Khawaneej track, Al Twar
Centre, Mamzar Park, Al Manar Centre, Jumeirah
Park Beach, Union Mall Barsha branch, Jumeirah Grand Mosque, Mankhool Eid
Gah and Hatta Centre.
