Restaurant customers wash their own dishes for charity

About 100 customers gladly tucked into a bargain offer of a free meal at a café in Dubai - in return for washing the dishes they'd just used.

Eager customers did their bit to support Water Aid by washing their own dishes at Fraiche Cafe in Dubai

Fraiche Cafe in Dubai given the option to the customers of paying for their food as usual, or doing the dishes for a free meal and seeing their bill amount donated to the charity. Fraiche founder and managing director Yousef Al Barqawi said about 100 out of the estimated 450 people they’d had through their doors since Wednesday had swapped dirhams for dishes.

Hakkasan plans to open its first luxury resort on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah

Global restaurant and nightlife Hakkasan plans to open its first luxury resort on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah. Hakkasan is the Abu Dhabi-based investment company owned by Tasameem. It opened Hakkasan Beverly Hills last week and plans to launch Hakkasan Shanghai early next year.

Khadem Al Qubaisi, Chairman of Hakkasan Ltd said that Hakkasan will include new restaurants and elite nightlife venues, day clubs, spas, boutique hotels and other hospitality and lifestyle offerings at key locations around the world.
